INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (ICU)

The ICU/CCU is a 10 bedded unit located on the second floor of Metro Specialist Hospital. It is located at the same floor as the Labour Room, Operating Theatre and Ward A2E. ICU allows easy access when emergency life-saving interventions or procedures are required.

The unit is designed to enable all beds to be placed in specific location allowing the nurses at the main counter to strategically view all patients.

The unit is fully equipped with advanced equipment designed like ventilator, bed side monitoring, etc to support the very specialized care so essential for the recovery of the many varied cases admitted to the unit. These cases could be heart case, trauma,peadiatric cases, medical and surgical.

The medical and nursing teams coordinate and collaboratively manage the health problems of the patients in a consistent evidence-based approach to achieve high patient outcomes. The well-trained and experienced nurses are responsible in handling diagnosis and collaborative problems and formulate appropriate nursing interventions to deliver holistic care to all patients.
